T
he Tuna Fever was built in Manteo, North Carolina by Capt. Buddy Cannady in 1994. She is 56 feet overall with a 17 foot beam. Under the deck you'll find a 1000 horsepower Caterpillar 3412 marine engine; the Tuna Fever boasts a cruising speed of 25 knots.

In the salon there is a TV and VCR as well as a stereo with CD and an air conditioner to keep you cool in the summer months. Winter charter clients can bask in the heat when they are not cranking in tuna!

Outfitted with all the electronics Capt. Billy needs to get the job done – GPS, Loran, Plotter, 2 Radios and Radar – the Tuna Fever also has a loaded tackle locker. From spinning tackle to light tackle rigs; heavy big game outfits to down riggers – we're ready for whatever species the seasons offer.

With over 18 years experience at running charters off the coast of the Outer Banks, Captain Billy Maxwell knows what it takes to make a successful charter trip. Your trip is a partnership between your crew and ours that begins with your very first call. From helping you plan for the right day to inviting your group up on the flybridge, Captain Billy's integrity and attention to detail prove that our clients are the number one priority at Tuna Fever Charters!

Down in the cockpit our deckhand, Billy Dickerson, has got it all under control. Billy has been fishing from Oregon Inlet for many years and is also one heck of a carpenter who builds boats in the off-season. Knowledgeable with a personality you can't help but love, Billy is patient with new anglers and ready to further the knowledge of our experienced fishermen. Specializing in junior anglers, Billy is equally at home with your best clients and your grandmother!
